COURSE OVERVIEW

 Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy builds on the knowledge and skills of provide first aid. It focuses on the use and operation of medical oxygen and associated equipment to patients who require it. This course includes Provide Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Refresher training is recommended every 12 months

LEARNING OUTCOMES

•  Prepare resuscitation equipment ready for use
• Apply bag and mask resuscitation techniques
• Attach and operate an AED
• Administer Oxygen
• Operate suction equipment
• Restore and maintain equipment ready for future use

VOCATIONAL OUTCOMES

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to consider the following job roles:

• Emergency response team member
• First Aider

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Participants must have previously completed HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid. Evidence is required upon enrolment. Enclosed footwear, wear suitable attire and bring with them a pen.

DELIVERY AND DURATION

Duration: 1 day Time: 8.30am to 4.30pm Provide Advanced Resuscitation is open to the public and can be delivered on your site or ours. Learners will receive training in both theory and practical activities.

RPL/LEARNING PATHWAYS

RPL is not offered.

If you require special assistance, including language literacy, and numeracy please notify us and support services can be arranged. Students that require any special dietary requirements should contact the Academy prior to commencement of course so alternative arrangements can be made. A Student Handbook is available from this website and our office which provides students with training guidelines.  All students have the right to lodge an appeal or complaint in regard to the outcome of this unit.
