Operate Breathing Apparatus (MSMWHS216)

COURSE OVERVIEW

 Operate Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus covers the competency that applies to operators who are required to wear breathing apparatus as part of their job – because they are working inside a confined space, with hazardous gases/vapours, in a toxic atmosphere or for any other applications requiring the wearing of breathing apparatus. They may also be required to wear it in an emergency situation, however this is not the primary focus of this unit. Refresher training is recommended every 2 years

  • Operate Breathing Apparatus
  • Conclude operations

VOCATIONAL OUTCOMES

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to consider the following job roles:

  • Specialist job roles which may require the use of Self-contained breathing apparatus such as fumigation, confined space, chlorine handling etc.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Safety boots, suitable attire, clean shaven in accordance with AS/NZS1715, pen/pencil. Participants must be physically fit and capable of wearing weight on their back.

DELIVERY AND DURATION

Duration: 4 hours Time: 8.30am to 12.30pm Operate Breathing Apparatus is open to the public and is conducted upon request. This course can be dleivered on your site or ours. Learners will receive training in both theory and practical activities. Morning tea/coffee is provided when delivered at TTA

RPL/LEARNING PATHWAYS
