Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009)

COURSE OVERVIEW

 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) gives learners the confidence and skills to provide CPR. Learners practice the skills on an Adult, Child and Baby Manikin and use a trainer defibrillator. This course complies with the requirements of the Australian Resuscitation Councils (ARC) Guidelines. The ARC also advise that CPR be refreshed annually Refresher recommended every 12 months

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Respond to signs of an unconscious casualty DRSABCD
  • Perform CPR on an Adult, Child and Infant for at least 2 minutes
  • Operate and apply an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Communicate details of the incident

VOCATIONAL OUTCOMES

Upon successful completion of this course, participants may be able to consider the following job roles:

  • First Aider
  • Member of an emergency response team
  • Safety Officer

This unit is appropriate for any job role

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Enclosed footwear, suitable attire and a pen/pencil. Participants must be able to demonstrate CPR whilst kneeling on the floor.

DELIVERY AND DURATION

Duration: 4 hours Time: 8.30am to 12.30pm Provide CPR is conducted twice a month at the Academy and can also be delivered on your site upon request. Learners will receive training in both theory and practical activities. Morning tea/coffee is provided when delivered at TTA

RPL/LEARNING PATHWAYS
