Chief Warden (PUAFER006)

COURSE OVERVIEW

Chief Warden is for those who will be in command and control of an emergency situation. Topics covered in this course include, locate and identify fire safety systems, check and monitor the status of fire safety systems Learners will interactively control a fire indicator panel (FIP) and an Emergency Warning Intercommunication System (EWIS) Refresher training is recommended every 2 years

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Prepare for workplace emergencies
  • Apply command, control and coordinate aspects of workplace emergency procedures
  • Control the response to emergency reports, signals and warnings
  • Coordinate reports and results of initial emergency response
  • Conclude incident

VOCATIONAL OUTCOMES

Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to consider the following job roles:

  • Member of an Emergency Control Organisation (ECO)
  • Chief Warden

  • Any organisation

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Safety boots or enclosed footwear, suitable attire, pen/pencil. Learners must have previously completed the pre-requisite PUAFER005 and evidence shall be provided upon enrolment.

DELIVERY AND DURATION

Duration: 6 hours Time: 8.30am to 2.30pm Chief Warden is conducted on a regular basis at the Academy and can be delivered on your site upon request. Learners will receive training in both theory and practical activities. Morning tea/coffee and lunch are provided when delivered at TTA

RPL/LEARNING PATHWAYS

RPL is not offered. Students who complete this unit of competency may be eligible for entry into further study such as: Certificate II Public Safety
