COURSE OVERVIEW

 Lead an Initial Response Team covers the competency required to lead a facility response team in the control of facility emergencies in their early stages prior to the arrival of the emergency services or specialist response teams

  • Prepare the team for facility emergencies
  • Coordinate the response to control facility emergencies
  • Communicate with and coordinate personnel
  • Lead team’s recovery from facility emergencies

Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to consider the following job roles:

  • Team leader of a Facility Initial Response Team

This unit is appropriate for those working in:

  • Any organisation

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Safety boots, clean shaven, suitable attire, pen/pencil. Learners must have previously completed the full 3 day Initial Response Teams course and evidence shall be provided at the time of enrolment.

DELIVERY AND DURATION

Duration: 2 days Time: 8.30am to 4.30pm Lead an Initial Response Team is conducted on a frequent basis at the Academy and is also available upon request. Learners will receive training in both theory and practical activities. Morning/afternoon tea and lunch is provided when delivered at TTA

RPL/LEARNING PATHWAYS

RPL is not offered. Learners who complete this Unit of Competency may be eligible for entry into further study such as: PUA20619 Certificate II in Public Safety
